Day 30

I love Monday. It means the house gets quiet and Rebecca and I get a little free time. Today we took McKenzie around while we ran some errands. We spent most of the day out of the house and then had a little take out for dinner. Both kids are in bed and actually quiet right now. Hoping for a peaceful night.

Day 29

Pretty boring day around the house today. I did get some more paperwork done for some Veterans Affairs stuff and I watched the Celtics beat the Lakers. I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend and is ready to take on the week.

Day 28

A very quiet day spent around the house. I have been listening to a lot of blues today so I figured this was appropriate. Have a great Saturday night.

Day 27

A beautiful Friday here in the capital city. I ran around all day in a short sleeved shirt because thirty degrees felt like a heat wave after the last week we have had. I had one appointment at the VA hospital today for cognitive rehabilitation and did some grocery shopping with the wife. I also got even more paperwork from the Social Security administration to fill out. I am getting tired of filling out the same forms for two different agencies. The VA has me filling out the same thing just in a different format. I hopefully will get them done this weekend and in the mail on Monday. I hope that you all have a great weekend.

Day 26

I know that I am posting this a day late and will probably post again this evening but I was in no mood to do much of anything yesterday after I got home. I had to deal with idiots in the school parking lot which really got me going. Some moron decided that just having his hazard lights on gave him the right to park in the middle of the driving lane to pick up his child. The only trouble with that was that when he went inside he locked his keys in the van. This left the parking lot jammed up for almost half an hour. I did come home and relax though so I got a decent nights sleep. I do not like how one little thing like that can mess up my whole day. Today is a new day and I will try to keep a better mood.

Day 25

Another cold one here but not unbearable. I had to deal with the stupidity of parents today at school once again. No one there apparently knows how to use a parking lot or the rules of the school that their child attends. The district policy is that if the temperature is above ten degrees that the children will have recess outside. Some parents think that this is still too cold but have no idea how to deal with it other than complain loudly to other parents. My response was to talk to the administration or shut up and buy your kid a heavier coat. As you can imagine this did not go over so well. Alas, I came home and put my jammies on and have enjoyed a lovely evening with the family.

Day 24 State Of The Union

Another beautiful day here in central Maine. The temperature finally made it above zero today but not by much. The high for Augusta was 4 degrees. We did have sunny skies and about an inch of snow throughout the day. I am looking forward to the state of the union address tonight to get the President's view on the past year and the one ahead. I am already pretty sure what he will say but I wait with baited breath to hear the Republican response to the address. If the last two responses are any indication it should be hilarious. I can not wait to see if Paul Ryan (r) from Wisconsin talks about his "Road Map For America" tonight. I have no idea what the Tea Party response by Michele Bachman will be but I am guessing it will be very slanderous towards the President and will contain at least one reference to violence. I hope that you are all planning to watch and stay politically active in the following year.
